Description
Ara is a furniture fabric from Kvadrat which was released in 2022. It is a sparkling furniture fabric designed by Margrethe Odgaard. Characteristic of her work are the innovative mixed color expressions, which can also be found in this series in the subtle speckles that are spread across the fabric like a clear starry sky.
Margrethe Odgaard found the inspiration for Ara's color palette in tropical birds, which are known for their bright colors.
Normally, color differences are often created by creating colored fibers within the yarn. What is special about Ara is that the dots are woven with colored jacquard on the plain background.
Ara is woven from wool with a pinch of nylon. This makes the fabric durable and lightfast in combination with the natural flame-retardant characteristics of wool. This beautiful, warm-colored furniture fabric comes in 8 colors.
