Description
Vanir is one of the latest upholstery fabrics designed by Raf Simons in collaboration with Kvadrat. It is a felted woolen textile inspired by traditional military jackets. The inspiration is taken from fashion. Translating fashion textiles into an upholstery fabric is typical of Raf Simons' working method.
Vanir is made with bouclé yarns with a demanding technique. Despite the very tightly woven and felted structure, there are still clear speckles of different colors to see. The surface is shaved and therefore not only smooth, but also plush, resulting in a very elegant furniture fabric.
The color palette is based on earthy basic tones, reminiscent of classic tweed fabrics, which are combined with fresh tones in surprising combinations.
Vanir is woven from wool with a pinch of nylon. This makes the fabric wear-resistant, lightfast in combination with the natural flame-retardant characteristics of wool. This beautiful warm-colored furniture fabric comes in 18 colors.
